The video below shows the kata that anyone desiring to try out for the Demo Team must learn and perform for the Demo Team Judges.  Also, be prepared to perform your own musical kata.  If desired, you may also perform a musical weapon kata, and demonstrate a choreographed self defense or one step scene.

Required Kata

  1. Attention Stance
  2. Ready Stance
  3. Step left – back stance choke break
  4. Left palm heel
  5. Right cross elbow smash
  6. Right thrusting knee – step forward back stance Rt. Bottom Fist
  7. Left reverse punch – forward stance
  8. Right jab – back stance
  9. Rt. Circle arm trap – facing forward cat stance
  10. Rt. Thrusting front kick – land forward stance – left reverse punch
  11. Shift to back stance with right cross elbow
  12. Lunge forward right knifehand chop in back stance
  13. Left reverse punch – forward stance
  14. Spin left – left hand bottom fist in side stance
  15. Adjust to forward stance with Right reverse punch
  16. Stepping front kick – land back stance right jab
  17. Shift to forward stance with left reverse punch
  18. Shift to back stance with Right Ridgehand
  19. Spin left with left back kick
  20. Land in back stance with left back knuckle
  21. Shift to forward stance – right reverse punch
  22. Spinning double round kick (low then high)
  23. Land in back stance with right back knuckle
  24. Spin around facing forward by stepping with right foot forming “Cross” position – head facing upward – palms facing front
  25. Step out with left foot – hands cross over chest with head down
  26. Spin 180 facing rear by stepping with left foot
  27. Step forward with left foot and drop to right knee
  28. Step forward with left foot into angled forward stance with double open hand high/low block toward the front
  29. Pivot forward stance facing forward with high block/chop
  30. Stepping right front kick
  31. Phase 2 jumping front kick with right leg(fake left /jump kick right)
  32. Spinning back kick left
  33. Spinning round kick right
  34. Jump spinning inside crescent kick (butterfly kick) right
  35. Spin to the rear by stepping with the left foot – drop to right knee with high block/chop
  36. Return to read stance

Come to attention – Bow – Return to ready stance
