Lindy Woods
-
Head instructor at Dunamis Karate
I began
training in the martial arts in the style of Chun Kuk Do (Chuck Norris,
founder) in 1993. When I started, I asked the Lord to help me do well and
progress quickly. He did and I advanced through the ranks
rapidly. I made 1st
degree black belt in 1997 and went on to make 2nd degree in 2000 and my 3rd
degree in June of 2002 and my 4th
Degree in June of 2005. In July of 2003, I was awarded the “Professional
Martial Artist Certificate” at the annual Chun Kuk Do/United Fighting Arts
Federation Convention in Las Vegas, NV.
In 2000, my church, Low
Country Reformation Ministries, and my Pastor, Elliott Woods, joined with me
to fulfill the vision God had given and in January 2001, Dunamis Karate was
born. Dunamis Karate ran as an outreach ministry of LCRM for two and a half
years. In June of 2003, we moved the school out of the church and into a
larger. In 2005, we purchased a building of our own and the dojo continues
to flourish. I give of my time and energy here to share my love of the
martial arts and my love for my savior, Jesus Christ, with the people of the
Low Country.
